This park and museum is located 36 miles north and west of the town of Klamath Falls on Highway 62.
A total of 8 acres, two of those acres was a gift of the William Zumbrun family. A log structure built to resemble the original guard house, houses an historical museum, containing artifacts from the original military fort and other relics of that period. The logs for the guard house were donated by the Lloyd Nicholson family. The graves of Captain Jack and his party are on the site and a new flag pole has been erected on the base of the original flag pole. The Museum was opened for trial run in September 1972.
A dedication ceremony officially opened the Museum in August 1973 and is now open from June to Labor Day with an attendant on duty during that period. Displays are continually increased and local citizens have donated family memorabilia to the collection.
