Instructions to Parents Regarding Youths in Detention


Office Hours of Juvenile Court Counselors

The office hours for juvenile court counselors are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The office is closed between noon and 1 p.m. for lunch.

Detention Visiting Hours

Detention visiting hours include Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Visiting Youths in Detention

Visits are limited to approximately 45 minutes. Visiting is limited to the parent/guardian. When it is necessary to visit at other than the above scheduled times, arrangements must be made through and with the written permission of the Juvenile Court Counselor assigned to each youth. Also, mitigating circumstances may allow visits by other appropriate people with the approval from the Juvenile Court Counselor or the Director.

What You Can Bring Into the Detention Facility

Due to problems in the past, purses and cell phones may not be taken into the detention facility. We suggest that these be locked in your car. Juvenile Department staff will not be responsible for any loss of or damage to purses.

No gifts of any kind, including food, will be allowed into detention.

Violation of Rules

Any violation of the above rules will result in termination of visiting privileges.
